Anonymists Anonymous

It's a new game folks and here's how it works:

One of the fun parts about this blog is that the comments are anonymous unless otherwise signed. These comments should continue! Perfect example is the Yuliana one. Each time such a 'post' is published, anonymous guesses are allowed but they must be accompanied by good reasoning. There's no limit but make sure you have a damn good working hypothesis. Guesses should be published as comments under each anonymous post.

You must admit to a correct guess.

Enjoy!

A thought from a little sad cocotte

Isn't just horrible when you can hear the crack of fireworks, but not see them from your house...

You think to yourself "Man, I bet those are real pretty"....but to only hear them is depressing and...well...annoying

2 Foxy Lady offenders

Back with breaking news:
Two offenders were spotted in the wild last week. During ensuing police interviews, one confessed to being "2 foxy ladies." Please listen for yourself (by clicking on photo), and preferably with inebriated audience. The offender was promptly offered mental help in the form of confinement to a bumpin' ride. Sadly, it is believed that he-she/she-he still suffers from gender and plurality confusion. Stay tuned for further developments...

girls' night - Marilyn Monroe style TUESDAY June 13

Hello Girls and potential suitors

We are planning a girls' party at Marie Claude's house (3863 Henri Julien) tomorrow evening on June 13th. This means martini drinks, a marilyn monroe movie, and dressing up (as per the picture). Please come by 7:30ish because we would actually like to try and get out of the house this time so we can show off our dressy styles.

Any questions please call

Great things rarely last forever

We`ve been teased by the great wavester and tick-butt. They`ve blessed us with their presence, appearing at parties, sporting events and at work. We`ve gotten accustomed to them. We`ve enjoyed spending our blooming summers with them. Now, however, it`s over.

They`re leaving us. Just like that. `Love `em an leave `em`. Oh woe is us.

Don`t worry guys, they`ll be back. Begging for company. We don`t need them. Let them leave, we`ll be fine. It`ll be...awesome... :(

yes, we'll be back! bye everyone!

Love-Wave and JD (with a little help from Marie-Claude... guess which part she wrote)

High time for pie time

Since there's no arcGIS blog, I'll rant about work here. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WOULD THE MAKERS OF ARCGIS RELEASE A DECENT MANUAL AND/OR HELP MENU. IF YOU'RE GOING TO GO AHEAD AND CREATE A NEEDLESSLY COMPLICATED PROGRAM, WOULD YOU AT LEAST CONSIDER SOME SORT OF EXPLANATION? GOD ALMIGHTY WHY? WHY?

Blurb SUS agenda

McGill EPS Undergrads Blog
Hey Dudes and Dudettes,

At the request of Kent, here it is!
-- Courtesy of Alex and Carole

The Monteregian Society rocks … literally! Every year, our undergraduates get opportunities to travel all over the world and study the great outdoors. Last year alone we travelled to Tanzania, Iceland, Yellowstone and Barbados. The Department is a friendly place where Professors and students know each other on a first name basis. Every day at 3 pm the whole Department gets together for free coffee and cookies. Throughout the year we have Halloween and Christmas parties, as well as a traditional “wine and cheese”… which usually turns into beer and chips! We are a sporty bunch: undergrads, grads and professors team up to play intermural ultimate Frisbee, hockey and soccer.
Earth and Planetary Sciences are all about combining chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology to understand our planet from the perspective of a volcanologist, geochemist, geophysicist, petrologist or sedimentologist.
If you’re looking for a strong science degree in a small Department filled with opportunities, EPS is the only way to go! Check out our website at http://eps.mcgill.ca/monteregian/ and get a hold of Professor Don Baker (donb@eps.mcgill.ca) our undergraduate student advisor.

Myth: Canadian beer is stronger than American beer

Well, today I found out that Canadian beer is actually about the same as American beer in terms of alcohol content (not counting Unibrue, etc which are off the wall > 8%)

The reason is that in Canada we calculate alcohol percentage based on volume while in the States they do it by weight... so 5% in Canada approximately equals 4% in the States...

just thought i'd share

Vansterdam

hello EPS bloggers and bloggees,

Just wanted to update you guys on my current status in Vancouver. I am working for a mineral exploration company in their downtown office and it is very cushy and sweet. It is a typical office with a lot of men, some female accountants, a cute secretary, an asian computer tech and a gopher... me. The guys went to all you can eat sushi today (10 bucks baby), but I had to decline, because I had a lunch date with Claude, an EPS alumni/veteran. She also has a sweet office job with BHP, except while I'm liable to get laid off at any second, her contract is temporally indefinite. Lets all just hope gold prices rise again. I hope I'll see you all in September in Montreal, have fun at your fancy sandwich bars in the meantime,

Kent

allo

all is well in brussels. it's pretty here, but not super different than montréal.

went to bruges and antwerp, where they only speak flemmish (or some english...but they refuse to speak french). It was beautiful but so sos sosoosososo sos cold. Ellen and I hqve both caught a cold, it's pretty annoying. gahhhhh

Yesterday we saw Jason Colett (the singer of Broken Social Scene) and Amy Millan (the singer of Stars) in concert. It was at the Brussels Botanical gardens in this tiny venue. The sound was great! We got to chat a littl ebit with them qfter which was nice. It's funny that we came all the way to Belgium to see two Canadian bands... Amy is playing in Montréal on thursday (a week from today) at the Cabaret on Sherbrooke and St-Laurent. I'm going if any one would like to join me.

NOw we're off to wander in the cold rain. Tommorow, we're pulling an allnighter at the bus station to catch our ride to London at 5am. Then, we hope to find a place to stay on Saturday night. We fly home on Sunday. I'll be in Montreal on Monday.

We haven't seen Hercle Poirot or Tintin around, but we're still looking.

See you all very soon, and somebody PLEASE FIND LOUIS

bisous, cocotte

ps. We've hqd beer and fries everday, it's fantastic
